Montas, Antoine
1926-1988

Antoine Montas was born in Leogane in 1926 He first visited the Centre d'Art as a soldier for the Haitian army before beginning to paint there in 1950. He decided to devote his life to painting in1960.

This charming and ever smiling man paints in a direct and childlike style. He uses strong colors and is very popular amongst collectors.
