Fouchard, Marie Louise 1961- Marie Louise Fouchard was born on December 31st. 1961 in Port au Prince, she grew up between Canada and Haiti. From 1983 to 1986 she completed her artistic studies at -L'Université du Québec- in Montreal. In 1984 she had her first one woman show at -La maison d'Haiti- in Canada. Marie Louise received first prize of Excellency from the National Visual of Quebec in Montreal in 1987. She came back to live permanently in Haiti in 1988. Coming from a family of educators, Marie Louise also embraced that calling. Since her return she has been teaching art to children with special needs and has consistenly been involved in education in Haiti. For 10 years she designed and manufactured preschool material used in the classroom and at home under the name of -Bèljwet-.
