1947
Raymond Dorleans was born in 1947 in Hinche in the Central Plateau of Haiti. After finishing high school he chose to come to Port-au-Prince to begin a career of drawing and painting. Initially he primarily designed greeting cards. In 1969 he met Edgar Brierre who helped him get started on the road to a fruitful career in painting. He is well known for his accomplished paintings of the Haitian countryside. One of his works is in the Museum of Naive Art in Paris.
