Ismaël Saincilus was born in April 1940 at Petite Rivière de l'Artibonite in the Central plain area of Haiti. He entered Le Centre d'Art in 1956 and almost immediately finds his own personal style. He is the master of Icons and began the style that is known as the school of Artibonite. His works are been exhibited all over the world.
