Pierrette, Emmanuel Emmanuel Pierrette was born in 1960 in Cap Haitian. He studied painting with two renowned artists, also from the Cap, Rony Leonidas and Max Gerbier. In 1974 he began painting on his own. His style, however, remained very similar to that of several Cap Haitian artists (i.e. street and village scenes with a tropical landscape as a backdrop). In 1988 he received special mention at the International Naif Art Show in Morges, Switzerland.
