Senatus, Dominique 1952-1986 Dominique Senatus was born in 1952 in Leogane. It is in 1968 that he felt the desire to paint. But not until 1972 did he seriously start to learn the rudiments of this field. He began to study with his brother-in-law, Maurice Vital, a well-established Haitian artist. He then refined his style under the tutelage of his famous brother Jean Louis. Unfortunately, this promising young artist was killed during the events following the revolution in 1986.
