In 1990 he made his move to Port-au-Prince where he began to be recognized for his personal style which had deviated from the style of "Ecole de l´Artibonite".

James, Accimeus
1963-
Acciméus James was born on December 28 at Petite-Rivière de l'Artibonite. He completed his elementary education at with Frères de l'Instruction Chrétienne at Vérettes. He was a boy scout for three years, and during this time he participated in craft workshops where he enjoyed working in basketwork, weaving, bullhorn carving.
He finished High School at Collège Lamartinière in Port-au-Prince.
In 1981 he came back to live in Petite-Rivière and learned to paint with Ismaël who is well known for his icons. Acciméus had also a passion for music where he played the saxaphone in the town band.
In 1990 he made his move to Port-au-Prince where he began to be recognized for his personal style which had deviated from the style of école de l'Artibonite. He is know for his still life. As of 1993 he began showing his work at the Galerie Monnin.
