James, Accimeus
1963-
Accim�us James was born on December 28 at Petite-Rivi�re de l'Artibonite. He completed his elementary education at with Fr�res de l'Instruction Chr�tienne at V�rettes. He was a boy scout for three years, and during this time he participated in craft workshops where he enjoyed working in basketwork, weaving, bullhorn carving.
He finished High School at Coll�ge Lamartini�re in Port-au-Prince.
In 1981 he came back to live in Petite-Rivi�re and learned to paint with Isma�l who is well known for his icons. Accim�us had also a passion for music where he played the saxaphone in the town band.
In 1990 he made his move to Port-au-Prince where he began to be recognized for his personal style which had deviated from the style of �cole de l'Artibonite. He is know for his still life. As of 1993 he began showing his work at the Galerie Monnin.
